General contractor serving Broward County & South Florida
Where
we build.
Kalin Group is based in Broward County and builds across four South Florida counties, from Boca Raton to the Florida Keys. Each one has its own building code requirements, permit offices and approvals, and Josh, a Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1541664) with 21 years of experience, plans for them from the first estimate.

Broward County
Home base
Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Parkland, Davie, Southwest Ranches, Plantation, Coral Springs, Pompano Beach, Hollywood and the rest of the county.
Broward is in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, the strictest part of the Florida Building Code, so windows, doors and roofing need product approvals rated for it, such as a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance. Permitting depends on the city: some run their own building department and others use Broward County. We currently have a private estate underway in Southwest Ranches, a renovation in Davie and an auto gallery in design in Sunrise.

Palm Beach County
Boca Raton, Highland Beach, Delray Beach and the rest of southern Palm Beach County.
Palm Beach County is outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone but inside Florida’s wind-borne debris region, so windows and doors still need impact protection. Many communities, especially in Boca Raton, have an HOA or architectural review board whose approval comes before the city permit.
Miami-Dade County
Miami, Aventura, Coral Gables and across the county.
All of Miami-Dade is in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. The county’s Product Control office issues the Notice of Acceptance carried by many approved windows, doors and roofing products, and we build to those requirements on every job in the county.
Monroe County & the Florida Keys

Marathon, Key Largo, Islamorada and the rest of the Keys.
Building in the Keys has rules you won’t find in the rest of South Florida. New homes need a building permit allocation under Monroe County’s Rate of Growth Ordinance (ROGO), or the matching systems in Marathon, Islamorada and Key West, and only a limited number are awarded each year. Much of the Keys also sits in coastal flood zones where homes must be elevated, and every delivery and trade comes down the Overseas Highway, so scheduling matters. We currently have an oceanfront residence underway in Marathon.
